I know that many say everything has been done before and fashion just repeats itself, but I don't agree completely. I see these amazing designers incorporating new technology into their designs that hasn't been done before. Silhouettes that are modern and different than anything were used to seeing. In these two storyboards I show a bit of my inspirations that are new on the 2012 runway.
Great job with these storyboards! I couldn't agree more-- I think we are headed into new territory with smart fabrics and alternative materials. I like both themes, but prefer Laced Up.
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to choose between the two, but Tech Savvy sat with me more. The experimentation with new materials and mediums, makes it more appreciated by people among other demographics other than fashion. Fantastic boards!
ReplyDeleteNice, well I really like the Laced Up, I love the fabrics :-) I think is a good and new way to see fashion. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThe storyboards are great I like the idea that is being brought to fashion its different and gives it a another look. My favorite is laced up I like the way fabrics can be used to create a very unique style.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Tech Savvy storyboard. I love that it's new material and technology but yet the silhouettes mimic organic shapes.
ReplyDeleteI love the Laced Up storyboard! Dark purples and blacks look great with lighter pastels, and the transparency of lace easily adds interest to simple silhouettes. I could definitely see this one inspiring Fall collections of 2012.
ReplyDeleteI feel like your boards a re really simple and clean. I like that a lot about them. I appreciate that you included a short explanation on each of them as well. I think the first one is my favorite. I love how you included a really subdued dark purple in it instead of getting stuck with shades of grey.
ReplyDeleteBoth boards are beautiful! That being said laced up is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAlexander McQueen is always a great source of inspiration and I like how you chose to go to the dark side rather than showing something sweet and romantic. Closing to have a dark shade of purple mixed with your grays gives your theme a stronger feel.
ReplyDeleteBring on the lace! I agree with your two-sided take on lace and I think these early ideas will eventually "trickle down" a bit to other designers who will incorporate these new concepts as well. Great boards.
ReplyDeleteI love both boards. I love the Laced Up board the most. I believe lace can also be seen as sexy. The Tech Savy reminds me of Lady Gaga. I do think the way they use fabric and other materials is very innovative, interesting and unique. You did a great job on both boards!
ReplyDeleteYour Lace storyboard really caught my eye. I love the dress on the far right, the one all over her face. Very dramatic and a unique twist on lace. Cool inspiration, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe Lace Storyboard is AMAZING. I've seen lace- tons of it- but the designs in the lace, the bats and the, what is that, a chair? lampshade? It's surpisingly different!
ReplyDeleteis that lace made with lazer etching!? 'cause if it is I'M ALL FOR IT. i'd love to know more about the technology you mentioned in the second board though.
ReplyDeleteBoth boards are so interesting, I can't pick which one I like better. The lace has awesome pictures that grab my eye, but the second board has such crazy textures and shapes that it makes my so curious as to what your like is going to look like.
ReplyDeleteI'm a girl who loves her lace! i love how you've shown lace in a darker p.o.v.
ReplyDeleteit doesn't have to be girly and frilly!
